Zimbali Coastal Estate is located on the Dolphin Coast of KwaZulu Natal, bordering the ever-popular holiday town of Ballito. Zimbali was established in 1996, since then, the Estate has developed into an internationally recognized destination of superior luxury. This multiple award winning residential and golfing estate covers over 425ha of pristine indigenous coastal forest with the exclusive Zimbali Beach and Indian ocean as it’s border, making it arguably the most picturesque residential estates in South Africa.

"Zimbali means Flower in isiZulu"

Zimbali boasts some of South Africa’s finest residential homes with the lavish beachfront, lakeside, forest and golf course fronting properties.

The world renowned, championship 18-hole, Tom Weiskopf designed Zimbali Golf Course has hosted multiple high profile golfing championships over the years including the Gary Player Invitational and the Supersport shootout.

Zimbali golf course is designed around the natural, indigenous trees, vegetation and wetlands, unique to Zimbali, to create a course that will challenge all handicaps.

"Unrivaled Luxury within Nature"

Zimbali, situated in South Africa’s prime Coastal Estate incorporates one of the three remaining coastal forests in KwaZulu Natal, with its crystal-clear waters of natural springs, harbouring a wealth of natural water and is rich in plant life and wildlife.

Zimbali’s ethos is to “live in harmony with nature” and this is evident in the 50ha reserve within the estate, as well as the primary dune areas that have been demarcated as conservation areas on the 3km of unspoilt, rugged beach and coastline.

An electrified perimeter fence securely bounds the entire Zimbali Estate. Beach access points are conveniently situated at various points, including the Valley of the Pools and Fairmont Hotel. The fence line is regularly patrolled and is monitored 24/7 from the control room within the estate.

Although this is not a swimming beach, guests can enjoy the warm sand, leisure walks and numerous dolphin sightings.

Although Zimbali Estate is best known for their world class golf course and golden beaches, it is also home to the ever-popular Valley of the Pools, Bushbuck pools and its many nature trails that wind throughout the Estate.

The many restaurants draw in the many residence and guests with their world-renowned chefs and impeccable service.

The Championship golf course stretches amongst the indigenous forest, water ways and the many golf facing homes that enjoy the commanding views. Its terrain will test the skills of amateur and pro golfers alike.

The Zimbali Clubhouse, remains of an old ruined farmhouse, now stands proud in the centre of the course. Framed by the many aging wild fig trees, this Club House optimizes luxury with a combination of Indonesian and African design, handcrafted décor and furnishings.

The fully stocked Pro Shop, members bar and restaurant is the perfect place to gather after a challenging round of golf.

Considered part of Zimbali, Zimbali Beach is a 3.5km stretch of pristine beach. With the contrasting colour of the evergreen landscape of Zimbali and the deep blue ocean, this beach is postcard ready!

Due to its position (it can be a strenuous walk from the Ballito main beach) this secluded stretch of unspoilt beach tends to be rather secluded and sparsely occupied. This allows Zimbali residents and guests to enjoy the tranquillity that this beach affords.

Although strictly a non-swimming beach, it is perfect for outdoor activities and catching up on your fading tan lines. Children can build their favourite sand castles while spotting the numerous whales and dolphins that leisurely pass by.

The Zimbali Beach can easily be accessed by foot from the Valley of the Pools.

Due to our mild tropical climate, Zimbali boasts an evergreen landscape within the 50ha reserve. Combined with the crystal-clear Spring water within, these two unique ecosystems merge to offer nature enthusiasts the very best of the exceptional fauna and flora that this sub-tropical paradise has to offer.

This conservation area is unique within South Africa and provides nature trails, a splendour of bird life and access to view the largest fresh water lakes found within residential estates in this region. The various bird sightings, including the Fish Eagle, crowned eagle and over 200 species of birds can be viewed from the many well positioned viewing decks dotted around the estate. Walks, hikes and biking trails through the coastal forest give you the opportunity to immerse yourself within nature. The resident Bushbuck families and the Diminutive Blue duiker roam freely within the estate and can be seen by vehicle, golf cart or on foot throughout the estate.

Zimbali Coastal Estate has been recognized by the UK based CNBC International Property Awards as the best in its class on a global level.

The magnificent Zimbali Golf Course and Country Club have been consistently rated as one of South Africa's finest golfing experiences and is rated by Golf Digest as a must play top 25 South Africaan golf course.
